The Environmental and Animal Ministry Groups at First Unitarian Church will co-host a showing of the video "What's Wrong With What We Eat," by New York Times Food Critic Mark Bittman at 7 p.m. on Friday, October 17, 2008. Following the twenty minute video, local physician Dr. Brian Moench will moderate an open discussion about our diet, its impacts on our health and environment, and simple ways to make improvements.

Devra Lee Davis is a leading epidemiologist, public health expert, and researcher on the enviornmental cuases of cancer and chronic diseases. She holds a PhD from the University of Chicago and an MPH from the Johns Hopkins School of Public Health. Dr. Davis is director of the world's first Center for Enviornmental Oncology located at the University of Pittsburgh Cancer Institute, and served as lead author of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change - the group awarded the Nobel Prize in 2007.
