Baby Shower
Tips for an eco friendly baby shower:

1-No disposible anything. For example, use real dishes, cups and cloth napkins. Not interested? Check out www.recycline.com for recycled plastic and dishwasher safe items.

2-Register for specific items, ie. G-diapers , and gift certificates. We are a big fan of sigg water bottles (not ucky plastic for the babe that is!) That way you can choose the best items for your family.

3-If it is your second or third child, have a get together and maybe make donations to your favorite eco-friendly non profit. (or register again, I don't think anyone will blame you!)

4-Send out smart invites! Hallmark.com has wonderful free emails, or check out www.twistedlimbpaper.com for gorgeous custom recycled and handmade papers. (Remember to remind people to car pool.)

5-Serve organic food.

6-Want favors? Seeds are a great way to show your thanks. Small violets, tulips, any small plants are smart. (try to have them favorable to the climate you are in.) Recycled stationary can also be a good choice.

7- Send out e -cards for the thank yous, or do the recycled thing again, (keep this in mind when you are ordering invites, that way you minimize shipping and packaging)

8-Have information about your favorite eco friendly products (everyone will probably have a lot of questions)

9-Be selfish! Request a spa day or organic cosmetics. If mama ain't happy, no one is happy!

10-Ask other moms what they really needed. Marketing can sometimes skew our vision. Every baby is different. You can often wait until the baby is born to see what you really need and then use those great gift certificates!

Have fun!
